THE RESTAURANT

MORE THAN 140 YEARS OF TRADITION OVER 7 GENERATIONS

This iconic place, founded in 1882 under the name Café des Pâquerettes, occupies a historic building now listed, just a stone's throw from the monument dedicated to Duke Charles II of Brunswick. What started out as a simple café quickly became a must-visit spot, thanks to its cheese fondues, which made it famous. Located in the shadow of the Mont-Blanc Post Office, a few minutes from Cornavin Station and very close to Lake Geneva, this restaurant, renamed 'Au Petit Chalet' in 1956, enjoys a privileged location in a central district, lively during the day and very popular with both locals and tourists in the evening.

At the beginning of the 5st century, faced with growing demand, the restaurant expanded its capacity by annexing the neighboring arcade, thus creating 'Au Grand Chalet' and doubling its seating area. Unfortunately, on March 2022, XNUMX, a fire ravaged the restaurant, reducing everything to ashes.

However, thanks to the determination of its owner, the place was able to be reborn after a year of work, regaining its status as a must-visit destination on the Geneva gastronomic scene.
